our lesson today will talk about Verbs (V)s.

درسنا اليوم سيتحدث عن الافعال

Verbs are words that show action or state of being.It's one of the main parts of a sentence or question in English.

.الافعال هي كلمات تشرح حدث أو حالة معينة .تعد الافعال من الاجزاء الأساسية سواء كان جملة أو سؤال

Types of Verbs:

أنواع الأفعال:

Action Verbs:

They express specific actions, and are used any time you want to show action or discuss someone doing something.

تعبر عن أحداث معينة وتستخدم في أي وقت تشاء لشرح الحدث أو تعبر عن شخص ما يؤدي الحدث

Transitive Verbs

Transitive verbs are action verbs that always express doable activities. These verbs always have direct objects, meaning someone or something receives the action of the verb.

الأفعال المتعدية هي الأفعال التي تعبر عن عمل دائما وأنشطة قابلة للتنفيذ. هذه الأفعال دائما يكون لهامفعول به مباشرة، وهذا يعني شخص أو شيء يتلقى عمل الفعل.

Intransitive Verbs

Intransitive verbs are action verbs that always express doable activities. No direct object follows an intransitive verb.

الأفعال التي تعبر عن عمل دائما أنشطة قابلة للتنفيذ. لا يوجد مفعول به يتبع فعل لازم.

Auxiliary Verbs

Auxiliary verbs are also known as helping verbs, and are used together with a main verb to show the verb’s tense or to form a question or negative.

وهي الأفعال المساعدة، وتستخدم جنبا إلى جنب مع الفعل الرئيسي لإظهار زمن الفعل أو لتشكيل سؤال اثبات أو نفي .

These verbs are [ BE - HAVE - DO- MODEL VERBS : (shall,could,would,....etc) ]

Stative Verbs

Stative verbs can be recognized because they express a state rather than an action. They typically relate to thoughts, emotions, relationships, senses, states of being, and measurements.

أفعال الحالة لأنها تعبر عن الحالة بدلا من الإجراء. وهي تتعلق عادة إلى الأفكار والعواطف والعلاقات، والحواس، والأحوال ، والقياسات.

لا تستطيع استخدام فعل يكون مع هذه الأفعال .

أمثلة :

love ,hate, like, hear, see,feel, know, forget, understand

Modal Verbs

Modal verbs are auxiliary verbs that are used to express abilities, possibilities, permissions, and obligations.

الأفعالا المودل هي الأفعال المساعدة التي تستخدم للتعبير عن قدرات، وإمكانيات، الأذونات، والالتزامات.

can, could, shall, should, may, be able to, might

تتميز بأنه لايضاف أي شيء اخرها وولاتتغير حسب الفاعل .

Phrasal Verbs

Phrasal verbs aren’t single words; instead, they are combinations of words that are used together to take on a different meaning to that of the original verb.

هذه الأفعال هي مزيج من (فعل + حرف جر) وهذا المزيج يعطي معنى آخر من الفعل الأصلي.

يتعطل break down

ينفجر blow up

ينفصل أو ينقسم come apart

Irregular Verbs

Irregular verbs are those that don’t take on the regular spelling patterns of past simple and past participle verbs.

الأفعال الشاذة هي تلك التي لا تأخذ على أنماط الإملاء العادية الماضية الأفعال الماضية البسيطة والماضيةالتامة .

Prefixes and suffixes

Prefixes and suffixes are important for vocabulary learning

هذا النوع من الكلمات مهمة لتعلم المفردات.

They have Latin or Greek roots.

لها جذور وأصول لاتينية أو اغريقية.

some of them have a lot of meanings.

لبعضها عدة معان على حسب السياق .

They can't stand alone .

ليس لها معنى اذا كانت منفصلة .

prefixes: are groups of letters that added at the beginning of a word.

هي مجموعة من الأحرف التي تضاف في بداية كلمة معينة .

PREFIX	MEANING	EXAMPLES
de-	from, down, away reverse, opposite	decode, decrease
dis-	not, opposite, reverse, away	disagree, disappear
ex-	out of, away from, lacking, former	exhale, explosion
il-	not	illegal, illogical
im-	not, without	impossible, improper
in-	not, without	inaction, invisible
mis-	bad, wrong	mislead, misplace
non-	not	nonfiction, nonsense
pre-	before	prefix, prehistory
pro-	for, forward, before	proactive, profess, program
re-	again, back	react, reappear
un-	against, not, opposite	undo, unequal, unusual

suffixes : are a group of letters that are added at the end of a word.

هي مجموعة من الأحرف التي تأتي نهاية كلمة معينة

-er	comparative	bigger, stronger
-est	superlative	strongest, tiniest
